Cooking – Week day dinner quiz

Do you feel like you lack the time to cook healthy meals at home? Most people think that they do. In fact, time is commonly cited as a reason for not cooking. There are numerous benefits to home cooking that everyone should consider. Still, cooking might seem like an impossible chore that simply takes too much time out of your day. But this isn’t true if you have the right tools and know what dishes to prepare. Add these ingredients to your list the next time you go to the grocery store.

One of the best things about home cooking, even if you’re on a budget, is that you don’t have to give up on the foods you love. For example, red meats and chicken are staples in many dishes, and there are countless ways to prepare these foods. They go great with vegetables too, so it’s the perfect entrée to place alongside nutrient-dense veggies such as sweet potatoes, carrots, and broccoli. Plus, once you’ve cooked the first meal, you can freeze the remaining meat for use in dishes such as chili, spaghetti, and meatballs.

Rely on your freezer and either prepare several meals in advance and thaw them out as needed or preserve leftover ingredients for future meals. You can also keep frozen fruits and veggies in your freezer to avoid seasonal supply issues and price hikes. The best part is that this won’t affect the nutritional content of these foods.
